Abstract

This study discusses the code switching and code mixing contained in the lyrics of the band Man With A Mission on the Album Break and Cross the Walls II. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely by setting several song titles to get data from the lyrics of the band Man With A Mission and analyzed. The result is that on the seven song titles contained in the album Break and Cross the Walls II, 24 data were found, including 12 data in the form of code switching and 12 data in the form of code mixing. All forms of code switching are external code switching in the form of sentences. Factors causing code switching are speakers, and listeners. The form of code mixing is in the form of word, clauses and phrases. The factors that cause code mixing are role identification factors, and the absence of the right language to replace the language that is being used.
