Steve Harvey'S Politeness Principle As Host On The Cute Kids Playlist For The 2019-2022 Period On The Steve TV Show YouTube Channel
Abstract
The thesis aims to identify the relationship between participants and the use of the maxim on the politeness principle in the YouTube channel. The politeness principle is one part of pragmatics that plays a role in communication in social life. This qualitative research is based on the descriptive analysis method by focusing on the presenter’s speech. The data are collected by using uninvolved observation and note-taking techniques. This study shows that the dialogue between participants has an intimate relationship and the approbation maxim is dominantly used by a speaker to create a good image of the presenter.
