The Role of Student Parents' Community in School-Based Management in Elementary School
Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of the community (parents of students) in education through the association of parents of students in the pillars of School-Based Management (SBM) in elementary schools. The school that is the object of research in this study is the Cinunjang State Elementary School, which is located in the southern part of the Tasikmalaya district of West Java. The research objectives focused on (1) the role of the parents' association in school financial management, (2) the role of the parents' association in learning, (3) the role of parents in maintaining the cleanliness of the environment around the school, and (4) the obstacles to the implementation of the parents' association in the school. school. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research using the descriptive method. The sources of this research are words, actions, and the process of collecting data using interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The result of the research is that the parents' association under the auspices of the school committee is able to play an active role and establish good cooperative relationships with the school, not only in educational content but also in school-based management. This research is expected to be able to analyze the extent to which the functionality of this school community service can take follow-up actions and contribute to the world of education, especially in school-based management in elementary schools.
