Author Guidelines
1. Introduction
Interval: Journal of Scientific Mathematics with registration number ISSN 2809-3526(print) and E-ISSN 2809-3755 (online) is a scientific journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service at Pakuan University. 2. Writing the title, name and address of the author
The title of the manuscript should be written at the top of the first page in the middle. Meanwhile, the author's name (without an academic degree), and the author's affiliation address, must be written. Communication regarding article revisions and final decisions is informed via email only to contributing authors. If there is more than one author, the name of the second author is placed next to the first author, separated by a comma (,). If the author's name contains at least two words, the first name should not be abbreviated. If the author's name is only one word, then it is written as his name. Keywords should be arranged alphabetically by 3-5 keywords.
3. General Terms of the Manuscript
The general provisions of the manuscript are as follows
- Manuscripts are authentic research results that have never been published.
- The manuscript does not contain elements of plagiarism. The Editorial Board will directly reject manuscripts that are indicated as plagiarism.
- The submission and publication process is free of charge.
- Manuscripts that have been written according to the provisions of Interval: Journal of Scientific Mathematics (with Ms. Word, using a template) must be submitted online using the Open Journal System (OJS) on the portal Interval: Jurnal Ilmiah Mathematics.

- Manuscripts are typed using Microsoft Word. The type of writing used throughout the article is Times New Roman. The paper size is A4 (i.e. 210 x 297 mm). Format a single column with 3 cm margins at the top, bottom, left, and right.
- Manuscripts must contain several aspects of scientific articles, namely: (a) article title, (b) author's name (without title), (c) author's affiliation address, (d) author's email, (e) abstract and keywords, (f) ) introduction, (g) Research Methodology, (h) results and discussion, (i) conclusion, (j) thanks (if any), (k) bibliography.
- The subtitles included in the discussion section (Introduction, Research Methodology, Results and Discussion, and Conclusions) should not use Arabic numbers but use bold letters.
- Manuscripts consist of a maximum of fifteen pages. The page number must be included in the text located in the footer for the start page and in the header for every other page.
- The text in the abstract uses the Times New Roman font type, 11pt, spaced 1, and one column. The indentation setting is left 0.5 and right 0.5. The maximum length of the abstract is 200 words. Keywords are written below the abstract with a distance of one line and arranged alphabetically by 3-5 words. Each keyword is separated by a comma ( , )
- The text in the article uses Times New Roman font type, 12pt, spaced 1 and two columns.
- Words that are foreign languages are written in italics.
- Each image is numbered followed by the image title below the image.
- Each table is numbered followed by the table title above the table.
- Each figure, table and graph is placed in the center.
4. Provisions for the contents of the manuscript
Manuscript Title: The title should be informative and clearly written. The title should not lead to different interpretations. The title is capitalized and centered. The title of the article is written in a maximum of fifteen words, 14pt, and times new romance. Abstract contains a maximum of 200 words, times new roman, 11 pt, 1 space. Iddentation Settings are left 0.5 and right 0.5. Abstract followed by three to five keywords.
Introduction: Contains adequate background and or research urgency. In addition, it is necessary to include a literature review or literature survey as the basis for the latest research questions, indicating which are the best from previous research, and pointing out the main limitations of previous research. References are indicated by numbers in square brackets [1]. If in a paragraph there is more than one reference, it can be written two or more numbers in square brackets separated by spaces [2, 3, 4]. At the end of the introduction, the purpose of writing the article is stated. Words that are foreign languages, scientific names or uncommon words, are written in italics.
Research Methodology: research methodology or explanation of the basic formulations that form the basis for the development of the results to be carried out. In this section, sub-headings may be made in accordance with the stages of the research. The method must be clearly explained in accordance with the standards of the research topic and can be repeated by other researchers.
Results and Discussion: Results should be clear and concise. Results are data or facts obtained from research. Important data or facts that cannot be clearly narrated can be displayed in the form of tables or pictures or other illustrations. If the results are presented in the form of tables or figures, they do not need to be described at length. The discussion is a review of the results, explaining the meaning of the research results, conformity with the results or previous research, the role of the results in solving the problems mentioned in the introduction, and the possibility of their development.
Conclusion: The conclusion must answer the research objectives. The conclusion should clearly indicate the results obtained, the advantages and disadvantages, and further developments (if possible). Conclusions can be in the form of paragraphs. Avoid repeating the Abstract, or only listing experimental results.
Bibliography: References listed in the bibliography are only those cited in the body of the article. All references referred to in the text of the article must be listed in the Bibliography section. The preparation of the bibliography follows the numbering technique adapted from the MAA (Mathematical Association of America), and must be carried out in a standard and consistent manner. Citations and bibliography should use a Reference Manager application, such as Zotero, Mendeley, or other paid applications.
5. Provisions for Citation and bibliography
1. Written with Times New Roman type 12pt, single spaced.
2. Numbering is done sequentially according to the order of citation in the article. Numbers are written in square brackets [4].
3. Hanging indent is used with the name of the author of the library 10 mm from the beginning of the square brackets of the library number. The next line is indented 5 mm from the author's name. Between libraries is given a distance of 6 pt. The paragraph shape remains right-aligned.
4. The author's name is written in the format of the last name (surname) followed by a comma, then the initials of the first name and middle name (if any). There are no spaces between initials. If there are two or more authors, the names of the authors are separated by commas. “And” or “&” need not be used between author names. If there are more than 10 authors, the names of the 11th and so on are not listed; use et al.
5. For book type libraries, the title of the book is italicized. Capital letters are used for each first letter in the title word, except for conjunctions, such as and, in, to, or, on, and others. If the reference is only to chapters or articles in books, the writing of chapter/article titles follows the provisions of journal writing.
6. For journal type libraries, only journal names are in italics. Capital letters in article titles are only used for the first letter in the first word. Capital letters are not used in the first letter of other words in the title, except for the names of people, places, certain methods, and so on according to good and correct Indonesian writing. This provision also applies to the title of the chapter/article in the book, the title of the article in the proceedings, the title of the thesis/thesis/dissertation, the title of the article in the newspaper, and the title of the article on the website.
7. Volume and number of articles in the journal are in bold.
6. Conditions for Submitting Manuscripts Online
- Manuscripts must be submitted online using the Open Journal System (OJS) on the Interval portal: Jurnal Ilmiah Mathematics
- First, the writer registers as a reader and writer on the register menu
- After the registration step is complete, login as author, click “New Submission”. The submission stage consists of five steps, namely (1) Start, (2) Upload Submission, (3) Enter Metadata, (4) Upload Supplementary Files, then (5) Confirmation.
- In the “Start” column, select Journal Section (Full Article), check all.
- In the "Upload Submission" column, download the script file in Ms. format. Word in this column.
- In the "Enter Metadata" column, fill in all author and affiliate data along with article titles, abstracts and keywords.
- In the "Upload Supplementary Files" column, the author is allowed to upload supporting files such as statement letters, etc.
- In the “Confirmation” column, if the data entered is correct, then click “Finish Submission”.
